Danville 4th of July Parade

We were honored to be a part of this year’s Kiwanis 4th of July Parade in Danville. It was our first time playing on a moving vehicle – a 24 foot flat bed fencing truck, decorated with flags, balloons, and a couple of new Drop Daddies banners. It was a rocky ride through downtown Danville, but despite a few near misses, no one fell off the truck!

With nearly 50,000 spectators along the parade route, this was our biggest exposure yet. That’s kinda like playing a stadium gig, except that no one was really there to see us, and no one heard more than a song or two (unless they were chasing our truck!)

Our families joined us for the parade, all decked out in brand new red, white and blue Drop Daddies shirts.  They walked the entire parade route, handing out candy to the crowd, and singing along the entire way.

We had a blast, and are looking forward to making this a new annual Drop Daddies tradition.  Happy Birthday America!
